“Working a full-time job and having epilepsy or seizures can be challenging, yet day to day most things go well for me. Of course, I take medication daily to control and minimize having any seizures.”

“I’m glad to say that the Epilepsy Foundation helped me to find a job that suits me well. I’m the Lead Demonstrator for a local company working in a network of local grocery stores. I couldn’t be happier at this job and where I am in life right now. Give the EFWCP a call to find out how they can help you with a job search as well.”

Employment Assistance

People who have a diagnosis of epilepsy or seizure disorder are often able to work, yet they are unemployed or underemployed. Many have been forced to accept positions far below their ability and educational achievement. Through the EFWCP Employment Program, people who have epilepsy or a seizure disorder can access assistance in maximizing their employment potential.

The EFWCP offers individualized employment services designed to assist you in identifying, developing, and obtaining employment opportunities. Our goal is to help persons with epilepsy to enhance their job search, job acquisition, and job retention skills.

The EFWCP offers an array of activities such as vocational planning/counseling, epilepsy education, job-seeking skills training, individualized job placement, and on-going support and follow-up.

We help with resume writing, interviewing skills, networking and job search skills.

To qualify for the EFWCP Employment program, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Have a medical diagnosis of epilepsy or seizure disorder.
  2. Be unemployed/underemployed and be at least 18 years of age.
  3. Express a personal interest in fully participating in the program.

If you are interested in the EFWCP Employment program or would like further information, please contact the EFWCP office in your area. Click here for a list of our offices.
